Looking back to 2007…

I don’t think this was my first blog post ever but more so my first business website and blog. It was 2007 and I was so excited to be sharing about “the new way to use the internet” Web 2.0! The phrase “social media” was relatively new to mainstream users of the internet and for businesses, social media was thought to be a time waster that they had to monitor their employees on.

In 2009 I was hired by the BDC to develop a social media training program for small to medium sized businesses throughout PEI which I did for a number of years. I recall helping attendees getting a number of interesting social media handles at the beginning.

As we are currently working on the re-design of our new website I went back to my first website from 2007 and when I read the content it was remarkable to me that I still offer the same services which basically come down to being a part-time marketing director (CMO) for small businesses.

“Add to that the fact that most entrepreneurs know they should be using the Internet to market their business but have no idea how, and you have a lot ofoverwhelmed business people.

Take a deep breath. We’re here to help.”

I haven’t wavered too much in 15 years… I am still #heretohelp🙂
